The launch trailer for ‘Bioshock 2’
I’m still weary of this game since for all intent and purposes, ‘Bioshock’ is a game that absolutely doesn’t need a sequel.
The first ‘Bioshock’ game was one of the most unique gaming experiences. It also was a prime example that video games can be narrative and visual works of art. It was one of the few games that really looked to elevate the video game medium to something more. The twist near the end of ‘Bioshock’ is one of the most jaw dropping moments ever in a video game.
‘Bioshock 2’ was made by a completely different development team, and seems more like a cash grab, and to shoehorn in multiplayer into a game that just doesn’t need multiplayer since the single player story was so strong in the first game.
I know I’ll eventually play this game, but I’m just not as excited for it as I want to be. ‘Bioshock 2’ is all about striking gold twice, which just isn’t going to happen. This will at most be a very good game, but it will just not be able to replicate the magic and awe of the first game. If you haven’t played the first ‘Bioshock’ yet, do yourself a favor and go pick it up right now. It’s gotta be $20s or under, and really is one of the best next-gen game experiences ever.
For the record, this launch trailer does make the game look like a lot of fun.
I have to agree. Bioshock has to be one of my favorite games of all time, and I have even played it more then once after beating it which is not something that I can say about a lot of games. I am expecting big things from this game, and I don’t really know how I feel about it yet, but Bioshock is going to be near-impossible to top.
